PRISim® accessories

AIS can provide a number of different weapon conversions for your laser-based PRISim simulator. Depending on your recoil requirements, you can choose from dry-fire, airsoft, AirMunitions, Tethered Floor Box or Dvorak weapon conversions.

AIS also has a number of less-lethal weapons and flashlights available.

DRY-FIRE WEAPON CONVERSIONS

Dry-fire conversions have no recoil. We take a real weapon and replace the barrel with a modified barrel that accepts the laser insert. The breech of the modified barrel is machined so that a live fire round cannot be chambered.

Dry-fire conversions are available for most weapon types subject to confirmation but include the following:

AIRSOFT WEAPON CONVERSIONS

Airsoft weapons are realistic, non-lethal, shooting replicas of actual firearms. Airsoft weapons mimic the appearance and functionality of their real-steel counterparts. They look, feel, weigh and function similar to the actual firearm. Often, the only way you can tell apart a "real steel" firearm and an Airsoft gun is when you pull the trigger.

AIS can provide the Airsoft G36C compact, MP5 and AK47 assault rifle for use with your PRISim® judgment training simulator. The weapon's barrel is modified to take an AIS eye safe laser insert. Power for the laser is supplied by a nickel-cadmium (NiCad) battery pack. A charger is also included.

AIRMUNITION WEAPON CONVERSIONS

These weapon conversions produce recoil by using AirMunitions training ammunition filled with compressed air.

When the trigger is squeezed, the firing pin strikes the back of the AirMunition round, which forces the compressed air to vent. This reaction force combines with the movement of the slide to generate a recoil effect. The empty cartridge gets ejected and the next round moves into position ready for firing.

AirMunition rounds are reloadable and re-usable. A simple reloading press, attached to an air compressor, is used to refill the empty rounds with compressed air.

AirMunition conversion kits are available for the following weapons:

TETHERED FLOOR BOX WEAPON CONVERSIONS

The machine gun floor box standard conversion consists of:

Tethered Floor Box weapons operate on compressed air which provides an unlimited amount of shots. The floor box is permanently submerged in the floor with only plug-in points for air and electronics on the surface.

The weapon has an umbilical tether coming out of the dummy magazine. The other end of umbilical tether plugs into the socket located in the floor box.

DVORAK WEAPON CONVERSION KITS

The Dvorak conversion kit is a drop-in air activated recoil system for semi-automatic and automatic firearms. The Dvorak system allows realistic training on real weapons and is available as both Tethered and Non-Tethered options. The system uses compressed gas or CO2 to simulate recoil by acting on the gun's bolt or slide to cycle the weapon.

Each conversion kit comes with an integrated laser device. The strike of the unmodified hammer initiates the laser and triggers the recoil effect. Using compressed gas instead of ammunition provides the opportunity to fire a large number of rounds at a fraction of the cost of live rounds.

LESS-LETHAL WEAPONS

Trainees can approach less-lethal situations with options such as incapacitating OC sprays, PepperBall®, TASER® and beanbag shotguns. Shot sequences and reactions can be played back and muzzle movements can be traced and displayed to verify appropriate use of the less-lethal weapons.

TASER device for PRISim

The laser-modified TASER for PRISim gives officers a chance to practice deploying this less-lethal weapon without incurring any operational costs. The device works exactly like its real-life counterpart with functional light, aiming laser and display. Replaceable cartridges allow officers to practice changing heads in the middle of the situation.

Each TASER is fitted with dual-laser inserts, both of which must hit the target area to create a successful strike. This means that officers can learn how to deploy TASER at the correct engagement distance.

Flashlight

AIS offers a variety of flashlights, including weapon mounted options, to use in low-light simulation training.

An officer uses a modified flashlight to train on a PRISim simulator under low-light conditions.

Low-light training

PRISim simulates the flashlight beam by tracking a laser fitted inside the flashlight. During scenario playback the position of the beam is replayed on the screen, so the instructor can evaluate the effectiveness of flashlight deployment.
